Fritz Reu GmbH & Co KG is a private mint founded in 1923, located in Heubach, Swabia, Germany. The company focuses on manufacturing customised coins, tokens, medals, badges, plaques and other similar products.

Pforzheim (1923-1945)
The company was founded by Fritz Reu (born 1901), a graduate of the Kunstakademie Munich. The business was initially located in Pforzheim, between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, and employed two assistants. By 1939, the number of employees grew to 15. During World War II, the company was run by Fritz Reu’s wife, keeping up production during the war years with the help of work-from-home employees.

Heubach (1952-date)
In 1945, just before Pforzheim was destroyed by Allied aerial bombings, the Reu family relocated to Heubach, 90 km east of Pforzheim. In the following year, Fritz Reu and two of his employees started rebuilding the company in Heubach from scratch. In 1952, the first factory was set up in Gmünder Straße in Heubach, where the production is based until this day. The company reached its peak number of employees in 1972, with 160 permanent members of staff and 30 others working from home. By 2015, due to the automation of the fabrication process, the number of employees dropped to 60. Until 2015, the company was managed by Hanz Fritz Reu, the son of Fritz Reu, when Berthold Krieg was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
