(en) These were emergency notes used for a expected currency shortage in World War 2, issued after the Japanese invasion of Hawaii and its rapid spread through the South Pacific, these notes were used for an expected shortage of coin due to Nazi and Japanese sea craft intercepting supplies from Great Britain.
Fortunately the Americans minted coins for Fiji in 1942/43 and although used, these notes were used with the coinage. Most are pretty tatty. Also issued were One Penny and One Shilling notes. These complemented coins and standard banknotes at values from 5/- to £20.
