(en) These pot duang of this period differ significantly in shape and design from others from an earlier period and are stamped with only one identifying mark, a conch shell. There are several variations of the conch shell stamp. A gold two pai version of the pot duang that were currently in use was issued for the funeral of King Phatracha in 1703, and was not a regular circulation coin. Only silver coins were issued up to the destruction of Ayutthaya in 1767. (Siam Coins, from Funan to the 5th Reign by Ronachai Krisadaolarn & Vasilijs Mihailovs)
