Description
This 2009 BU Coincard was minted by The Perth Mint in Perth, Western Australia and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand & New Zealand Post.
The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating the Kakapo bird, also called the owl parrot, which is a species of large, flightless, nocturnal, ground-dwelling parrot of the super-family Strigopoidea, endemic to New Zealand. It has finely blotched yellow-green plumage, a distinct facial disc, a large grey beak, short legs, large feet, and relatively short wings and tail.
