Today, Xavier uploaded new feature. We now have country introduction paragraph, which you can find when you open some countries (currently about 180 have it)

Feel free to write articles for any country, send them to me or Chomp-master, so we can add them manually.

You can have a look here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/crete-1.html

I still think that there is a big mistake at the Netherlands East Indies, because the VOC coins are also added there, but the VOC coins you could use everywhere where the Dutch were, even in Suriname, South Africa etc they paid with VOC coins, and still it is at the East Indies, even in Krause...

That is surely something that should be at least mentioned in the Netherlands east indies introduction.

Another feature is that the Search was redesigned about an hour ago. :)
Technically, when you open a country, you are opening specifically preset search. So you are right, search got redesigned too.

How do we edit the ones we're referee for? New Zealand's is pretty bare bones

"New Zealand is a country in the south west Pacific with a population of 4.5 million."
You prompted me to check again. Aaand it turns out I am sleepy. You cannot change it directly. But if you send me or chomp-master the article, we can put it there. I will amend the original post.

Thanks!

Thanks, I'll try to get something written up in the next couple of days.
I am not sure if you want an outline of the USA.
I'll write up in the next few days some paragraphs on the general history of the countries I referee for as well as information of the currencies.

Neil, America is a country of about 310 million people. My home state, Oklahoma, has about the same population as your entire country. California has more than 10 times your population. Plus, you are an island; you have the ocean to protect you.

We are being overrun by more than a billion people from south of border. I don't think it so bad. It was bound to happen. It is called the browning of American. It happened in South America more than 4 centuries ago. In fact, Mexico City had a mint 250 years before America ever had one. We used depend on the 8 reales for over 2 hundred years, up to the civil war. Pieces of eight.

But I know the Kiwis are tough. You fought at Gallipoli, which the allies could have won if they would have hung on for another few weeks, the Turks were in trouble. And Kiwis fought hard in WWII. I will never forget the iconic photo of a New Zealander being beheaded by a Japanese soldier in WWII. It enraged the world, and we all responded.

A man starts mew feature thread. People discuss cockroaches and goats. Man is puzzled.

Pew Pew Merika!

If I would write about the US it would be about friendly people, horrible accent, stunning nature, ugly architecture, excellent service in restaurants no matter if it costs you less than 10 or more than 300, the morbid obesity of many, the health craze of a minority, and the straightfoward 'getting things done' mentality I so often gladly experience when doing business with them, as long as internal politics and legal BS don't ruin it all. It's a country of many faces, so diverse it's impossible to grasp with a few charicatures. I also realise that America's foreign policy has ruined many places in the world while others benefited. I guess I've been lucky so far to that extent.

Hello,

There is the "see more" buttom, but not the "see less" to go back.
It would be nice to put in the text the link to the WCC threads that Jokinen has been doing so nicely so far.
Need for translation to french ?? B)

I am not sure links work there, but I cannot see why they should not.

I reported the "show less" button. Good point, thanks.

And yes, as some default descriptions were taken directly from Jokinen's threads, which are English, there will be great need of translations.

We still cannot add third level structure. But we looked at it, and it looks ok.

Shouldn't the British East Indies be located under Indonesia.

Hello,
This is tipically a country that should appear twice, under indonesia and under Britain-British colonial empire.
This should become possible some day.
