Mintage ? - 1 Denar (2000 Years of Christianity) Macedonia

4 posts
Hello, I have some doubts about the mintage of this coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces7980.html.
SCWC and NGC show Mintage: 2000, but the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia shows 1000; and these are small numbers if we consider that a lot of Numista members own it and that the coin seems to be very common and with low value.
Are we missing something?

Nicola

I think, there are much more coins then this few thousands we read here in Numista.
Can a numista team member or a referee take a look how many users have got these coins?
I think, either there have to be a year line added with the "normal" mintage (which we don't know) additional to the existing year line which at this moment shows the wrong mintage, OR we shoud add an additional coin sheet for the "normal coin" and the existing Nickel-Brass coin sheet is for the UNC coins which were made for collectors by "Goldmak a.d..

Hello Lars,
thank you very much for this useful info! That explains why so much collectors have this apparently "non common" coin. I'm agree with you about add another year line for this coin with "normal/unknown" mintage and the mint name and modify the existing one with "UNC" and the different mint name.

Best regards,
Nicola
