French Indochina 5 Cents [solved]

7 posts
While I was revamping the French Indochina section of the catalogue I came across a date of 'Unknown' in the 5 cents (1923-39).
I've found absolutely no evidence for a version of the coin that's undated, so I'd like to request that date be removed; problem is that 160 people have this 'date'; my guess is that's for coins too poor to have a date seen.
Link please? :)

Can't we keep it as "Date illegible" or "Date unclear"? I have seen such usage for some of the Spanish coins where the year digits are in stars. Personally I would like such usage where there is a good chance a date cannot be read.

Usually what I do is I enter the coin into the largest mintage and add a personal comment 'Date unclear'.

I don't know if there already is, but if not I reckon the Spanish coin sheets needs a picture displaying how to read the date. That will make it easier for the new collectors and the unknowing collectors.
