How about Laos and Thailand but I suspect Myanmar or Burma have the notes with peacocks.
We get a banknote from Macedonia and two banknotes from the bank of French Indochina with the same design for Vietnam and New Caledonia

The only peacock note I know of is the Macedonian 10 Denari. But, if this is the note referred to, I am not sure what the twist is.

Why don't you know? It is common from 640 B.C, that Bhutanese regional kings ordered coins to be minted in any symbol of Buddhism. Now banknotes, Banknotes too have symbols of Buddhism and peacock is one.
The peacock crown?
Actually, I think it is the raven crown for Bhutan. I have heard that the Shah of Iran actally sat on the Peacock throne...which was originally Indian...but no, im not thinking of Bhutan, Iran, or India...but it is an asian nation!
