Description

This 1988 BU Set of coins was minted by The Royal Mint in Llantrisant and issued by the New Zealand Government Treasury. It was issued in a Grey plastic wallet.

The set contains six standard definitive coins. 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c & 50c.

This was the last BU Set to feature the 1 & 2 cent coins which were withdrawn from circulation on 30th April 1990.

The NCLT $1 coin is commemorating a penguin unique to New Zealand. Also known as the Hoiho, the Yellow-eyed Penguin, is thought to be one of the world's rarest penguin species.
