The first commemorative coin features on its obverse the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus, a detail from the painting Madonna with Child, Saint Sebastian and Saint John the Baptist by Perugino, preserved at the Uffizi Galleries in Florence.

The second commemorative coin shows an angel, a detail from Paradise by Luca Signorelli, housed in the Chapel of San Brizio in the Cathedral of Orvieto.
Luca Signorelli, born Luca d’Egidio di Ventura, is regarded as one of the most important exponents of Italian Renaissance painting.
