Description
This 2024 Year Theme Coin NCLT Set commemorates "Australia in Space" and was issued by the RAM in the "Four Coin "C" mintmark & [B], [S], [M] Privymark" Set. The four coins were the first Year Theme coins to have the Dan Thorne 1st Portrait of King Charles III.
Australia is going to the Moon! An Aussie designed and built rover will be part of NASA's Artemis program in the second half of the 2020s. The rover is being developed by local industry and universities to demonstrate Australia's expertise. The rover will be operated from a control station in Australia and will collect lunar soil from which NASA will try to extract oxygen.
The Set was issued in the new style hard plastic case which is inserted in a cardboard outer slipcard sleeve.
