This 2002 BU Set of coins was minted by The Royal Australian Mint in Canberra and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand & New Zealand Post. The set was packaged in a blister type folding coincard and was inserted in a slipcase.
The set contains six standard definitive coins, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 & $2.
The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating Hector's Dolphin which are distinguished by their rounded dorsal fin, black, grey and white markings, and gently sloping snout. The critically endangers North Island Hector's Dolphin is the world's smallest and rarest marine dolphin, with an estimated population of just 100. the larger South Island populations of Banks Penisula, Southland and West Coast, are also thought to be endangered.
