Hi,

Can anyone who knows about Russian coins help, please?

I know this is a Russian Ivan IV wire money Denga, but there are so many possible entries in the catalogue I've no idea which it could be.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?r=Denga%20Ivan%20iv&ct=coin

Are there any telling features?

Thanks

Hi,

I can't see your reply, is it still there?
I deleted my earlier reply because it may not have been very helpful. I was just going to say I think the best thing to do is to look for a close match to both the writing and the figure on horseback. I see there are several examples in the Numista list you give that are quite close. It seems likely to me that your coin is from the Moscow mint.

Here's one from Zeno that looks very close to yours.

Hello! You just need to look at the shape of the horse and the guy on top of it, on the shape of legs, tail, etc. On the other side, on the position and shape of the letters. They are all very similar but have some minor differences.

Here you can find maybe a bit more detailed catalog.

Thanks, that's really useful, & I definitely agree it looks closest to one of the Moscow coins.
