Hi guys,

I have this Ecuadorian bank note that is worth 10 Sucres. I am having trouble reading the date, but I believe it says June 19, 1956. My trouble is with which listing I should “collect” this under. P101 says 1950-1955, which would be the wrong year, but my note has the series at the end of the date like the one pictured. P101A has the right dates (1956-1974), but my note does not have the series in the same place as the photo. There is a June 19, 1956 listed on the P101A, but that was an addition I contributed, and now I'm thinking I may be wrong.

Here are the following two links for the P101 and P101A:

N#225357

N#223003

And here are the images of my note:

I am missing the informations that inform about the differences on those catalog pages.

The example note is 11 years older then yours, so there are most likely changes like the series position.

So I would add it under the right date.

FWIW Colnect lists series IC as P#101A:

https://colnect.com/en/banknotes/banknote/21516-10_Sucres-1950-1974_Printer_ABNC_Issue-Ecuador

The main difference is the red v blue design/background behind the center left/center right denomination:

On P#101A you can also see a “10” upper left/upper right:

I see the red/trapezium shape and the “10” on yours (vs the blue/quatrefoil) so I vote for P#101A.

(Note I had to google those words, they are not in my daily vocabulary.)

Thanks for the info … then this should be put in the comments and in short on the title of those pages.
