Hey, i just got a set of those Yemeni Buqshah coins

and they look strange.

They look like are some metal plated, but a very good job was done if that's the case, the size are perfectly good, but the weights are smaller. if the coins were silver plates shouldn't they be at least the equal weight if not even more heavy?

Second option is they are made of a different type of metal, that would be a serious mistake for the mint (that guy had at least 100 more all the same).

2 of them are a little bit underweight and one has a good weight.

Any idea guys?

What makes you think they are silver plated? Why would anybody silver plate copper-aluminum coins?  They look OK to me.

Because they don't look like the regular copper aluminum coins, they have silver colour

people are always silvering bronze coins since centuries. whats the mystery?

Please make better, cropped images of both sides of each coin. Those coins have never been silver plated. Mine are cu-al according to my anotations

You have two different 1 buqsha coins, I got mine in Salalah, Oman.

What do you mean by “2 different coins”? The KM#22 that you shown in your table, according to numista should be an 100 Rial gold coin.

Right you are, I'll take a look into that and come back on the subject.

There is certainly more copper in mine:

Yours might have too much aluminum? Electrolysis?
