Is the mintage figure for Melbourne correct, the Renniks catalog has 10 million.

Seemss like they got their mintage from NGC https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/australia-penny-km-56-1955-1964-cuid-1045015-duid-1216245 even their values are questionable.

Hi Gummardee - I will check this out when I get back home. Just travelling in Europe at the moment so don't have my reference books with me. I think that mintage figure of 49,130 million for the Melbourne mint 1964 Penny was added to Numista before I became the referee.

If Rennicks says 10 million I would like to know what MacDonalds says. Sometimes they disagree.

Cheers Mike

Hello Nearly a year and no update. I know people are busy, but come on. Thanks.

Well when I replied to your comment I was travelling in Europe and by the time I got home I had forgotten your request. Sorry about that.

In the mean time I have answered hundreds of requests, validated thousands of Creation and Modification requests as well as improving and uploading hundreds of pictures.

Maybe you could have reminded me a little sooner than almost one year later, come on?

Mintage for the 1964 Penny as per McDonalds Book…

Melbourne Mint - 10 Million

Perth Mint - 54.59 Million

Renniks Book has exactly the same figures.

I have corrected the mintage line for Melbourne Mint on this year (1964) on the Numista Page for the coin.

Regards Mike

Hello Mike

I like to ruffle feathers. You need thicker skin. Anyway, thanks. There are some more mintage mistake and will let you know, like the 1951 and 1952 Pennies. I give people a lifetime to fix stuff. Hope your trip was enjoyable.

Thanks

Glen
