There is no “price” because very few collectors own that coin. Look at the low percentage. The “price” is only an average of a minimum amount of collectors who have filled in a value for that coin. If you want a retail price, check the catalogs. Another thing you can do is extrapolate a value by looking at all the coins of that condition and focusing on the ones that have similar mintage numbers. Still if there is no demand or supply, it will affect a “price” being put on the coin. Ask yourself, what am I willing to pay for this coin if you didn’t have it. It plainly says on the site the values are a guide only. They are helpful when doing a trade or knowing when to stop bidding on eBay stuff that is mostly overpriced anyway.
ebay shows it's worth about $3, I don't think the filled 8 will affect as theres not really any way of telling how many were minted like it, and personally is such a minor variation I can't imagine it inflating the value that much. most sell for between $3 - $5, sometimes less even
1938 upper part of 8 filled. pleaes if you know the price, tell me.
Enter your coin in numista and give the price you paid, please. I have one, where the 8 is filled both up and down!!!!!! According to my research no extra price should be given to the error coins….
Just for the fun, I researched this coin (90% were with 50% or 100% filled 8s) on internet and then set up the following documentation of an ERROR coin.
Please add your comments, personally I think the extra year line for the filled top of the 8, should be deleted?
