Japanese replacement notes

I have a Japan 1000 Yen banknote (P# 104d) with a brown serial number starting with ZZ. The whole serial is ZZ262257X. However, I was not able to find any information on the Japanese replacement note print runs and their serials. Would it be reasonable to assume that it is a replacement since that's always the case with ZZ blocks?

If anyone is able to point me to any useful resources, it would be really appreciated!

No, that only addresses the different colours in serials but not the existence and identifier of replacement notes.

The comment section not the year line comments.
Banknotes with a serial number of 900001 or greater are replacement notes.

Yes, you are right. My apologies for not realising the read more button and thought only the first paragraph existed.

On a sidenote, is there a source with this explicitly mentioned? The linked source only covered the motivation, security features and design of the notes but not the print runs.

HERE and most likely also governmental documents were they've got that information.
