This coin [10 Roubles (Ministry of Justice)] is not listed in a Series: Russian Ministries. I believe it is a part of the series

I just submitted a request to add it.  You can do things like this yourself by clicking the Modify or add data on this page link on the page.

Thanks! Will do next time

Also this one:  N#4752 I submitted another request.

Both change requests were rejected with the comment:

Hi, there is a difference between Series and Commemorative issue. Series we use for line of coins issued in different years with common idea. This coin is devoted to a single jubily and was issued in one year only. That is why it has Commemorative issue only.

Looks like it should be part of the series to me?

I sent a PM.  The Guidelines aren't much help.

All coins were removed from the Russian Ministries series by the referee.

Hi all. As I have explained, to my mind Series is a set of coins  issued in different years and devoted to a common subject. Some coins in a Series could be commemorated to something but it isn't a joining principle. For example, Series  Outstanding Personalities of Russia contains a lot of coins devoted to jubilee of Persons, but jubilee itself is no a joining principle for some coins Commemorative event is anniversary of death. So it is a Series with a special Commemorative event for every coin.

As for Russian Ministries “Series”, all coins (included silver 1 Roubles) were devoted to 200th Anniversary of creation Ministries in Russia. So it is a Commemorative event but not a Series. I corrected the base accordingly.

Hello! I've checked several Russian resources and all of them are refering to these coins as series of “Russian Ministries”. I thought grouping by “Series” is a way more conveniet way to keep a good structure, now I see your point @tolnomur.  Anyways, there are several other “fake series” than:

Coins are not being issued in different years, yet still being called "Jeti Kazyna" series

Bank of Russia doesn’t considered this coins to be a Series

From my point of view it dosen't matter what the bank or anyone else thinks they are. It is more a way of grouping them together in an easy way for Numista members to see other items that are obviously similar. Instead of using lots of links in the References box which only show one thing at a time when you click on them.

When the Series option is used a single click very conveniently opens up a page with all the others on it.

My 2 Aussie cents worth anyway but that's not worth much these days haha. 😁

In guidelines, there is no info that series must be from different years. I use series frequently and most of them are from one year only, like series of 5x 50p or 12x 1Crown. Of course, some other series are from different years (like “Cats” from Isle of Man).
