Hi,
I was looking at this coin (I hope to acquire one sometime) and noticed that a proof variant of the 1911 is also known. I looked online and found this sale by Heritage Auctions:
https://coins.ha.com/itm/east-africa/east-africa-george-v-matte-proof-50-cents-1911-/a/3020-23713.s?lotPosition=4&ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Archive-ArchiveSearchResults-012417
Spectrometry testing revealed the proof issue to be of 925 fine silver not the 800 fine of the regular issues. The proof issue is under the circulation issue page however and I was wondering if there were two proof variants (or if there was any evidence of two purities). If not, can someone delete the proof entry? I will add the proof coin to the catalog.
Thanks
