While looking into another member's question I stumbled into something I shouldn't be able to do.  Until a new page is validated if someone other than the member who created the page (not counting referee, Admins) clicks on the link this is what is displayed:

However, the Modify or add data on this page link is active for anybody.

I tried to change something on this draft page and to my surprise I did!  The change does not show up on my Catalog modification requests (not sure what happens on the original members requests list) but the draft page does change, or at least looks like it changes when I open the same link and then edit again.  While this is a great tool for collaboration of new pages between multiple members, I don't think it's meant to be allowed.

Hahaha, a lot of testing:

Can you change something else? I have the tab now open so without refreshing that tab won't change, so I can compare if you're changes effectively influence the original request.

I see none of those pending changes against my username. I just made a new change. Refresh your screen.

And here is the new request with your fake year line indeed on the request:

I assume that is indeed something that's not supposed to happen. On the other hand, if there's someone with bad intentions, his name will appear in the list.

I just undid the year line change.

No, I'm guessing that it isn't intended that any member can change any non-published page.  I'd still like to know what the member that created the page sees on their Modification request page. Probably quite surprised.

It is not supposed to happen. People usually do not have access to those links. But funnily enough, this will probably result in some sort of “hammer on testing witches”, thanks for bringing it up.

And since you can find latest unpublished pages, you could make hell of the requests. I will call a cavalry.

Hello,

The modification of non-published pages is now restricted.

État résolu (Xavier, 24 sep 2024, 8h25)

Since there may be a delay between acceptance and publication of a new record, could there not be the indication “published” in addition to “pending”, “refused”, 'accepted' on the page https://en.numista.com/catalogue/contributions/liste_demandes.php

This would encourage the member who provided the sheet to discover possible modifications made by the referent and to note the final presentation of his contribution.
