Roty, Louis Oscar or Oscar French , 19th – 20th century , male. Born 17 June 1846 , in Paris; died 23 March 1911 , in Paris. Medallist , sculptor. Louis-Oscar Roty studied under Auguste Dumont and Hubert Ponscarme. He reinvented the medallist's art in the second half of the 19th century. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1873 and was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1875 and various other distinctions in 1900 and 1905. He was a member of the Institut and a Commandeur of the Légion d'Honneur. His most famous piece is The Sower , which graced silver

Dupré, Georges French , 19th – 20th century , male. Born in St-Étienne. Sculptor. Georges Dupré was a pupil of Oscar Roty and Émile Thomas. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, becoming a member in 1902. The Salon awarded him a commendation in 1893 , a third class medal in 1899 , a second class medal in 1901 and a first class medal in 1904. He was also awarded the Prix de Rome in 1896.
