Identification of Arabic Coin.

I would like to see if someone could help put a broad identification on this coin.  It has baffled our family for a long time.  I believe it is Arabic, but certainly could be wrong.  It was acquired in the 1940's while my father was in the Asia/Pacific during WWII.... we think.

It is silver, approx. 24mm in diameter, edge is serrated, picture below should reveal the rest.

All information much appreciated.

I think it's a 1/2 Ghirsh from Saudi Arabia.

The year is 1354 AH.

You did all the hard work, SmartOne, but not quite "on the money"!

I have a feeling it might be 1/2 Riyal, the date of course is spot on:

Rick, I may be Asian, but it doesn't mean I understand coins from the Middle East.  :P

I was in school so I was not able to provide a prompt response. Thanks for looking up the coin, Rick.

Thank you both.  The link to the other 1/2 Riyal is also very helpful and pretty much confirms it.
