The date is 2029 (1972) even though it looks like it is 2026 (1969) - here are some recent topics about that - they are about a different denomination, but they mention the characters look similar ...

Not sure about aluminium-bronze though. But the 1972 line on the page you mentioned does says proof only, so with what I wrote above, then the person you got it from is right. 
Thanks very much! ya know as I catalogue my coins I find that I do not like how some coins are made, why can't they just use one standard instead of using funny things that confuse people....
Anyways, you solved my issue I think. The coin looks like it does say 2026 based on that legend in link, but if you confirm seller's info, I will believe it.
Man I love proof coins, They will be super valuable one day I hope lol. Such nice quality, and so few produced, it's a shame I don't have more, in total I have 20 out of about 2,000 coins. 1% lol.
