Please post here any coins you received as Gifts, Photos included please!

In addition to my most Awesome gift of a 1781 Mexico 2-R that I already posted here, https://en.numista.com/forum/topic40458.html I also just received these two very worn British Pennies from a friend who knows I collect world coins.

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
This was a gift from the most generous of collectors - Daryl (thank you once again)

A good freind Casper. Who helps me with some of the new US state parks quarters. I need three set ,me and two grand kids. Sent me this, Serbia 1915 50 para Km#24.3
It is, what it is, or is it.
I get a very warm feeling when I receive an unexpected coin from a friend who has clearly been thinking of me when sending it. I get an equally good feeling from sending a surprise gift to someone I know will appreciate it.

Numista has a wonderful community and I have had a lot of help in tracking down obscure dates / mintmarks / varieties from many of the members here.

What is particularly sad is seeing the same hands go up every time something free is offered and realizing that those same hands never seem to go up to offer anything in return.  If you regard the altruism of others as simply a one way street which gets you some free shit whether you need it or not, then you are depriving yourself of one of this hobby's greatest side benefits. Finding friends who are willing to help you fill album gaps and for whom you will gladly do the same is worth far more in the long term than grabbing some free stuff without ever repaying the kindnesses.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Not anything valuable, but I went to a wedding and while my wife was helping make bouquets, her uncle let me look through his change jar. I sorted all them out and went to put it with his little coin collection, and he said "I would just lose that stuff, you keep it".
It's a poor photo, but there's a silver dime, a British pound, and the copper pennies all have a really good color of patina.

A friend of mine went to a shop and found they have a coin trough and brought me home a pile.

They just picked out ones they thought were cool, and I agree!
I gifted this one to a fellow collector friend

and this one to my friend on the occassion of his son's christening (and who happens to share my Birthday!)

I've had plenty in the past, especially from kind members of this site. But this year for my birthday my sister is getting me a couple of Krause catalogues (1801-1900 and 1901-2000) I'm really looking for ward to that.

Those Canadian birthday sets are really neat. I've given them as baby gifts in the past. I hadn't seen this one with the feet on it before, I really like it.
I received completely free coins from Daryl.

Got last week around 30 coins from Daryl. To understand all how great this man is, I don't even have to open a swap with Daryl and we already complete many times each other missing coins from our collection. For me being a collector is more than just swapping coins and I am always open to make new friends all around the world and to share knowledge and respect. I have a great respect from Daryl and his kindness is hard to reach by many of us and members like him bring quality to this community. This is what I call a passionate collector.
I hope we do the "Secret Santa" coin exchange again this year. I joined Numista too late for it last year, but it seemed like such a cheerful and festive thing to do.
Look what I got in the mail, thank you Neil. And 10 more pennys.

Thank you very much
yours daryl
It is, what it is, or is it.
I got this lot from a lady, not sure why it was a gift, she had them posted for a long time and no one responded but me. However I'll be paying her. In it was this HUGE Bahamas's coin https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces14932.html
I'm not sure how I feel about this coin, I would have never bought this coin but now that I have it, I kind of love it.
Plus silver Swiss coins, silver US coins (barber and 40% Eisenhower)
some weird silver centered token. And more! About $100 value
