I have just made a modification request regarding the above catalogue listing, but before someone from the team asks, here is a picture of my coin:

The Numista listing (and indeed Krause) has the diameter of this coin as 17.35mm which, curiously, is the same as the later Nickel issue that replaced it. I measured my coin at 19.4mm (with my vernier guage, not with the ruler shown!) but I agree with the weight listed (well, within 0.02g anyweay!) Perhaps other members with this coin could check the size. Regards, Rick

You are absolutely correct. I have half a dozen South African 6d and are all the same as yours 19.35 mm
Checked in my vernier. All these with a Protea on the Obverse and Jan van Riebeck on the Reverse.
The 1965 with the Blue Crane on the reverse are slightly smaller with diameter 17.35 mm.
Krause has a error with the size in the KM# 59
Citation: ByrneAll these with a Protea on the Obverse and Jan van Riebeck on the Reverse.
I'm glad you said that! If you click on the link above you can see that the team has partly validated my modification request, which includes the diameter change. What they have not validated, however, is my request to change the thickness to 1.3mm (even though I measured mine with a digital vernier) and I also requested that they swap the obverse and reverse details - so who is right about the images, Numista or Krause?

Oops!! the 6d was before decimalisation. Numista team are sharp.
KM# 59 is 5 cents with diameter 19.35 and with a thickness of 1.3mm as you noted.
