Hi
I have seen a lot of times " (fr) BE " what does this mean.
the last time I saw it , was with a mintage of 1,000,000 . Were these entered into circulation?
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5639.html
Thanks
Merv
the (fr/en) marker depending on which side of the site you are, indicates that a comment exists only on the french respectively the englisch side.
BE is short for Belle Epreuve meaning proof.
Good that you point this out. The mintage of 1,000,000 is a mistake in our catalogue. Proof coins are always struck in low mintages. These 1997 coins were in sets only so they did not circulate.
The mintage of 1,000,000 is for the smaller 1997 KM# 45.2.2: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces12349.html
Thank you
Merv
