I have this coin and when I found in catalogue, I saw this bug.
I reply to this topic instead of create another new. This topic was rejected, but I suppose (I expect!) because was started two year ago and was unsolved.
The coin is this: N#6107
- Year according lettering: គ.ស.១៩៩៤ ព.ស.២៥៣៨ 1994 AD 2538 BE – This “translation” of numbers is correct according https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_numerals
- Year in list: calendar Thai, year 2538
- Year displayed: 2538 (1995) -- This is an error according lettering
Similar coins are:
All have:
- Year according lettering: same (គ.ស.១៩៩៤ ព.ស.២៥៣៨ 1994 AD 2538 BE)
- Year in list: calendar Gregorian/Julian, year 1994
- Year displayed: 1994 -- Correct
In Krause catalogue year is 1994, too (in the four coins).
The problem is the calendar conversion:
Can be several reasons (there is an error in the lettering of the four coins!, Cambodia use another conversion rules, or another day 1 in the year...). In any case, the year according these coins is 1994 AD, not 1995 AD.
Solution: Calendar and year of N#6107 must be changed as the others:
- calendar Gregorian/Julian,
- year 1994.
I will open a suggestion for modify the calendar, and I add a link to this topic for modify the year from 2538 BE to 1994 AD.
