hello,

I found 3 pages where I can register my coin:

1. For the type with a possibility to select mint: N#81284

2. For the mint with a possibility to select a year among 2 of them: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces295445.html

3. For the mint with a full years range, but without year lines: N#160442

Also we have a dedicated page for similar type, but other mint: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces150131.html

I'd propose to create new pages followed zeno structure for al-Mansur coins with each with year lines: https://www.zeno.ru/showgallery.php?cat=3027

My personal list of scammers from Numista: erniemix, yvain, CassTaylor

Give me a few days and I'll check these coins.

ok, I agree with you, we can create a new page following the zeno structure

Hello,

@simoneo80, please, was this done?

Best regards,

Hi,

so, I took a look at the pages, I can confirm that these are similar but not identical coins, what generally changes are the inscriptions shown. I propose to keep all four pages, and to update them following Zeno's dating and mints.

you might even think about keeping only the first one: N#81284

but then it would be better to report the image examples of the others coins with their respective differences.

This is also a solution if you don't want to keep too many pages of similar coins but from the same ruler.

Can you request modifications which fot the most Numista  guidelines please?

Bump?

Poke @LEA_Lars :-)

Hi, I will take a look at this during the holidays when I have some time off.

Great thanks

Hi, I had a look at the four pages.

1. Pages #295445 and #160442 could be merged keeping as much as possible of the information in page #295445. When they are merged I will update the page following the zeno.ru structure. I will start with al-Mansur as it is now the one being discussed. Eventually I will do the same for other rulers.

2. According to Numista guidelines the name of the ruler should be in the title only if the name is present on the coin. For al-Mansur, and many other rulers at this time, the names are not on the coin. As long as the coins have the same design I will also add other mints to the page. The main title will be “Dirham - Anonymous”. The other 3 (or 4) titles will have a short description of the design within brackets, eg. “Dirham - Anonymous (citing al-Mahdi)”. For al-Mansur there will be 4 pages (maybe 5), based on design, and each page will have 2, 3, or 12 mints. I will also create a date line for each date per mint. For the largest page (anonymous) there will be maybe up to 100 rows. If this is considered too many the alternative is to create several anonymous pages based on mints, i.e. 12 pages.

3. Page #150131 is wrong. No coins were minted in Al-Muhammadiya in the year AH 143. Source is Steven Album Checklist and zeno.ru. When reading the text on the picture of the coin I am pretty sure it is written al-Basra. Al-Basra was producing coins in AH 143, so it does fit. I could update the wrong information on this page, however, I would prefer if this page is merged with the two previous pages (#295445 and #160442).

4. Page #81284 has a different design. Should be kept as it is. I will make some updates to the page for more details and clarification.

Done, thanks

Hi again, I think you merged the wrong ones.

#295445, #160442 and #150131 to be merged.

#81284 to be kept as is.

Fixed thanks

Could you please add a couple of mints currently missing for the al-Mansur coins?

al-'Abbasiya, does not exist today. Ceased to exist in mid-11th century.

al-Hashimiya, found a city in north-western Jordan with this name but the ancient name was Fara or Farah. It got the current name in the 70's, so I don't think it is this one. Probably does not exist anymore.

It is better to add new request to a new post once the last one is set to “done”, as it can be easily forgotten here.

Yes, of course, I will do that in the future to make sure it is not forgotten. Thank you.
